Ensō.

Brian’s artwork is a product and extension of his calligraphy; in recent years his work has been inspired by the Japanese ensō (circle). Creation of an ensō is an automatic process that expresses the completeness or emptiness of the moment in which it is drawn — it reveals what the artist was feeling. An ensō can symbolise freedom, enlightenment, harmony, strength and a multitude of things in between.
